I have a large christmas cactus that I bought last year and I was wondering how to get it to bloom again? How do you get a christmas cactus to bloom again?
For the month of October, put them in a dark room for 10-12 hours a night for 4 weeks. Make sure during the day, they get bright light, but no sun. Water as usual, about once a week is sufficient. In November, if you notice any small phyloclades (tips), pinch them off. Toward the end of November, water well and then one week later, give it a very good 'bloomer' plant food, such as Miracle Grow 15-30-15 full strength. The next week water well and then give it one more good dose of the bloomer. They will begin developing buds on each tip and bloom for you at Christmas. They absolutely have to have the dark-light cycle. How do you get a christmas cactus to bloom again?
Just keep it alive - water, mild fertilizer and light. It will re-bloom. Plants go through their natural cycles indoors just as they would in nature. I have a house full of plants that many people throw away after their first bloom (azaleas, poinsettias etc.) and they're beautiful.
Would you believe it is called a ';Christmas cactus'; for a reason.I have @ 12 of them (red, white, pink) It is a suculent so only water it once every 2 weeks.Feed it with miracle gro @ once a month. This will keep it healthy through the rest of the year.It will NOT bloom untill @, well, Christmas! I have had them for @ 4 years and they always bloom right on or just before Christmas.Hold off on watering them @ 2 weeks prior to bloom. This will encourage bloom.Make sure they get @ 5 or more hours of sunlight, too.

Give it some miracle grow - and don't overwater it. . .
i just leave mine out and water it like any of my other house plants. they bloom again without doing anything special to them.
They only bloom once a year usually in December...thus the name.
Wait until Christmas?
ill treat it
deprive it of water allow it to almost dry out for a few months .
It needs to rest until its proper blooming time
Start to water in October ,November
and you should get it to start blooming.
when it is in bud ; spray with folier feed
and pamper it .
