How long will it take for Marigolds to bloom?

My class is planting Marigold seeds the beginning of February, hoping that they'll be grown (and BLOOMING!!!) in time for Mother's Day. Can anyone tell me how long Marigolds take to grow and actually bloom from seed? Will they have blooms on them by Mother's Day if we plant in early February? (We'll be planting inside, using small terra cotta pots or the like)

thanks in advance! How long will it take for Marigolds to bloom?
They sprout quickly and should easily be blooming by Mother's Day if planted early in Feb. and they get plenty of light. Keep the soil warm and moist until the seeds sprout, then water as needed. Watch out with the terra cotta pots. They dry out really quickly. You will have to water the plants really well on Fridays if you leave the plants at school over the weekend. A very small terra cotta pot is a lot of trouble. Good luck! How long will it take for Marigolds to bloom?
They are an annual so it will take them no time at all to sprout and start to grow into a flower. I would say in about 3-5 weeks they will appear. Reading the back of the seed packet would also tell you.
