How long after planting does it take for Azaleas to bloom?

I planted mine last year. Was very healthy looking and green. It gets plenty of light and I water often. This year same thing but it is May 20th andit has not bloomed.

Any sugestions? How long after planting does it take for Azaleas to bloom?
With blooming shrubs it is normal to NOT get flowers the year or 2 after planting.....with some (such as Magnolias) it can take up to 7 years.

As for the fertilizer issue.....they do like it slightly acidic.....a good organic Azalea/Rhododendron/Blueberry fertilizer would do it well. How long after planting does it take for Azaleas to bloom?
try to fertilize your azaleas at least a couple of times a year with azalea fertilizer. I'm not sure where you live, but they should flower in Spring and then possibly again, albeit with less flowers, in fall. It's planted outside right? They aren't all that easy to grow as indoor plants.
It depends on what zone you are in. I live in NH and the azaleas are already in full bloom here. They are also acid loving plants so they might need a fertilzer.
You should check about the area you live in.. Im in NY and ours are almost finished blooming for the season.

Also, I think it helps to make sure the base of the stem is even with the ground you've planted it in.
