zone 6b is my region, for anyone who is knowledgebable specifically for my area.
Thanks for your answers! How long generally does Black eyed Susan bloom for and would it go well mixed with Colombine?
The columbine blooms first and the black eyed susan's bloom later but I am not sure if they would do well in the same bed. Black eyed susans can be very aggressive and might crowd out the columbine. I grow my columbine with hosta, astillbe, foam flowers, and clematis in partial shade in zone 5. I have my black eyed susans with coneflower, asiatic lilly, daisy, day lilly, monarda, liatris, and other aggressive growers. Good luck! How long generally does Black eyed Susan bloom for and would it go well mixed with Colombine?
should flower from july to october if in full sun. columbine usually flowers may to june sometimes longer if you deadhead regularly. it may be adviseable however to plant something else like polemonium ( flowers june to august ) as well to keep blooming continuous. hope this helps.
Well, I live in zone 7 and Columbine usually has stopped flowering by the time black eyed susan flowers. Just by a few weeks though! Black eyed Susan Comes into flower by the end of June until September....Here anyway!
